Saint Anne has long observed a policy that mirrors the Hampstead School District
cancellation policy. Therefore when school is cancelled all parish office hours, programs
and morning Masses* are also cancelled.
THE REASON:
Saint Anne enjoys a partnership with the Town of Hampstead where we provide use of our parking lot for teachers and parents during school hours, and in exchange, the Town provides snow removal services during the winter.
When school is in session, snow removal for the parish parking lot is a priority due to school use. When school is cancelled, snow removal of the parking lot has a lower priority and is cleared when snow removal equipment becomes available.
The cancellation of parish events insures the parking lot is empty and clear of all vehicles, for maximum snow removal as well as your personal and vehicle safety.
TO AVOID CONFUSION:
If school is cancelled, the parish cancellation policy is in effect, and remains in effect for the day, even if weather conditions improve.
WHEN THE SCHOOL HAS A DELAYED OPENNING:
When school has a delayed opening, the cancellation policy is not observed, and morning Mass, office hours and parish programs remain in effect as scheduled.
*Mass intentions affected by cancellations are rescheduled to the earliest opening.
