Saint Anne has long observed a policy that mirrors the Hampstead School District
cancellation policy. Therefore when school is cancelled all parish office hours, programs
and morning Mass* are also cancelled.
THE REASON:
Saint Anne has long enjoyed a partnership with the Town of Hampstead where
we provide use of our parking lot for teachers and parents during school hours, and in exchange,
the Town provides snow removal services for our parking lot.
When school is in session, snow removal for the parish parking lot is a priority due to school use.
When school is cancelled, the parking lot has a lower priority and is cleared when snow removal
equipment becomes available.
The cancellation of parish events insures the parking lot will is empty and clear of all vehicles, for maximum snow removal as well as your personal and property (vehicle) safety.
TO AVOID CONFUSION:
If school is cancelled, the parish cancellation policy goes into effect. The policy remains in effect for the remainder of the day, even if weather conditions improve. This avoids any "on again off again" confusion.
WHEN THE SCHOOL HAS A DELAYED OPENNING:
When school has a delayed openning, the cancellation policy is not observed, and morning Mass, office hours and parish programs remain in effect as scheduled.
*Any Mass intention affected by the cancellation will be rescheduled at the earliest possible opening.
